Inspired by 17th century communal living in Japan, this is a different conception of space and utilization of space I can appreciate.
What gets me about this living area is the brightness and lightness! Notice the legs on the furniture–it’s as if everything floats in this room. The polished black floor (a personal favorite) reflects like a lake, adding depth without heaviness.
